Divisional DNA
Scale, Security and Location
Large scale communication and logistics capabilities (based in Canberra) combined with high level government security
Security Printing and Binding
An integral part of servicing the Australian Federal Government and related Departments is to ensure security, confidentiality and a fast turnaround service. The Government Division produces a broad array of items using digital and offset printing. Its equipment includes the largest digital print facility in the Canberra region combining both reel fed mono and sheet colour. The Government Division also offers a comprehensive range of finishing options, undertaken in-house, including perfect binding, comb binding, section sewing, wiro binding and plastic coil binding. OPUS operates the largest digital print facility in Canberra, and Canberra staff are security screened by the Australian Security Vetting Service and the Department of Defence.
Quality, Reliability & Proven Systems Infrastructure
To be a major supplier to the Australia Government, a full scale operation and proven systems are critical as contracts are often awarded over a supplier’s reputation and track record. In the Canberra region, OPUS has one of the most impressive production capabilities and warehousing operations, ISO 9001 certification for print production, ISO 14001 certification for environmental management systems, and our companies have been servicing government clients for over 50 years.
Business Services
The OPUS business services model combined with IPALM, enables the efficient and seamless content creation to consumption for government departments and agencies. OPUS provides a bridge for traditional supply chain to digital supply chain allowing government customers to create, publish, produce, deliver and manage content. For example, a large government agency uses the OPUS proprietary IPALM system for web development, online ordering and transaction management, print, warehousing and distribution and real-time e-commerce.
The Division also specialises in Bulk Document Management and Publication Sales, which allows customers to outsource the end-to-end sales process for individual copies of publications including ordering, payment and delivery to the end consumer. These services involve the secure storage and distribution of documents and, where required, print on demand replenishment services. Orders and payments are processed through a dedicated call centre and website – managed by OPUS.
Warehousing & Inventory Management
The Government Division is also an accredited bulk mail partner with Australia Post and operates one of Canberra’s largest mail houses. It provides standard envelope mail services including envelope printing, automated folding and inserting. It also provides plastic wrapping, in line addressing, post code separation and automated bundle wrapping. Additionally, non-standard mail services involving collating, inserting, onserting and processing by hand are available. As part of the end-to-end mailing solution, the Division also provides returned mail processing services.
The Government Division provides two forms of warehousing and fulfilment services to its customers: 1. Bulk document management, which assists customers in the orderly stock management of documents and publications, including storage and distribution of physical and electronic content, and 2. Publication sales, which allows customers to outsource the end-to-end sales process for individual copies of publications including online ordering, payment and delivery to the end consumer.
These services involve the secure storage of documents and, where required, print-on-demand replenishment services. Orders and payments are processed through IPALM, a dedicated call centre and/or website.
